Cleared Sample Imaging

Modifying the properties of usually opaque samples to render them transparent while keeping their structure intact

Applications

Cleared-Sample / Cleared-Tissue应用程序

The 3D imaging capabilities of light-sheet microscopes, in combination with optical clearing techniques, enable visualization of very large, cleared specimens in-toto, comprehensive and non-destructive within minutes. It has thus become a valuable tool for 3D microstructure analysis of tissues (e.g. in neuroscience, developmental biology and connectomics).
The MuVi SPIM CS and the LCS SPIM are optimized for 3D imaging of intricate tissue structures, relevant to studying the brain or the central nervous tissue in neuroscience, to analyzing organ development or to investigating tumor structure and genesis in oncology. They provide innovative solutions in sample mounting, sample size and optics for best-in-class 3D imaging of cleared samples. While the MuVi SPIM CS enables imaging at subcellular resolution and samples sizes up to whole mouse brains, the LCS SPIM is optimized for very large samples up to entire adult mice realizing visualization of complete neuronal or vasculature networks at cellular resolution.
