The research field metabolomics aims at a comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analysis of all small molecules present in a cell, a tissue or even a whole organism. Responding to intrinsic or extrinsic triggers, the entirety of compounds will change. And the goal of studying these responses is to get a more holistic picture to understand e.g. the emergence and progression of diseases.
The lipidome can be considered a subset of the metabolome, covering all lipophilic compounds. Many lipids play important roles for example in cell communication and are associated with metabolic diseases. The similarity in the physical properties of lipids, despite their structural diversity demands for dedicated workflow solutions. These are different compared to classical metabolomics approaches. Both applications are supported in MetaboScape and both are facilitated by the additional dimension that is achieved using Trapped Ion Mobility Spectrometry (TIMS).
This poster hall shows a unique collection of investigations that leverage Bruker technology, e.g. showing the benefit of CCS values and the PASEF acquisition mode. We are very thankful to everybody who contributed their research results.
And we hope you enjoy reading through this poster hall as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
